Best Route: Agadir → Casablanca
- Take the A7 motorway north from Agadir toward Marrakech (2h 30min).
- At the Marrakech bypass, continue north on the A3 motorway (3h more).
- Enter Casablanca via the Boulevard de la Corniche for a stunning Atlantic approach.
Tip: Break the journey in Marrakech for lunch (plenty of options near the Gueliz district) and arrive in Casablanca refreshed in the late afternoon.
Top Things to Do in Casablanca
- Hassan II Mosque — The world's 7th largest mosque, built over the Atlantic. Tours run daily (non-Muslims welcome). Unmissable.
- La Corniche — Casablanca's oceanfront promenade. Seafood restaurants, beach clubs, and Atlantic views.
- Quartier Habous (New Medina) — A planned traditional medina from the 1930s. Beautifully preserved, excellent for shopping without the hustle of Fes or Marrakech.
- Rick's Café — Inspired by the 1942 film, an atmospheric restaurant in the old medina. Book ahead.
- Morocco Mall — One of Africa's largest shopping centers, worth a visit for the architecture and aquarium alone.
- Twin Center towers — The city's skyline symbol. Walk the surrounding business district to feel the energy of modern Morocco.
Parking in Casablanca
Casablanca has covered parking garages (parkings couverts) throughout the city center — typically 10–20 MAD/hour. The area around the Hassan II Mosque has a large free car park. Avoid street parking in the business district; use garages near the Corniche for the coastal area.
Day Trip or Overnight?
The drive is long enough that we recommend at least one night in Casablanca. A day trip is technically possible (leave Agadir at 6am, return by midnight) but exhausting. Two nights is ideal — it gives you time to see the mosque, the Corniche, and explore the medina at a relaxed pace.
