- Kasbah des Oudaïas — A 12th-century fortress overlooking the Atlantic and Bou Regreg river. One of Morocco's most photogenic spots. The blue-and-white alleys rival Chefchaouen.
- Hassan Tower & Mausoleum of Mohammed V — An unfinished 12th-century minaret surrounded by 300 columns, next to the stunning Royal Mausoleum. Free entry.
- Chellah Necropolis — A walled medieval complex of Roman and Merinid ruins, inhabited by storks. Quiet, atmospheric, underrated.
- Rabat Medina — Far less tourist-heavy than Marrakech or Fes. Genuine local life, good souvenirs, easy to navigate.
- Mohammed VI Museum of Modern Art — Morocco's finest contemporary art museum, housed in a former railway station.
- Plage de Rabat — A broad Atlantic beach right in the city. Swim or surf in the Atlantic swell.
Parking in Rabat
Rabat is easier to drive in than Casablanca. Park near the medina or at the Mohammed V Avenue car parks (central, affordable). The Kasbah area has a small car park at the entrance gate. The Ville Nouvelle (new city) has plenty of pay-and-display street parking.
